Waterfront Inn, Shanklin

The hotel is situated right on the promenade in Shanklin, opposite Shanklin beach, making it an excellent location for a short stay. The room felt slightly smaller than expected and could use some updating in terms of decor and furnishings. The service was good, with a welcome drink offered and pet amenities available, but lacked that extra special touch. The dining experience was lovely overall, with well-cooked dishes and a decent breakfast but lacking in some areas like milk availability for cereals at the specified time. The facilities were decent, though improvements could be made to enhance the overall experience.

I woke up to the gorgeous view of the ocean from our seafront room, which was spacious and comfortable with good quality amenities. More plug sockets would have been handy. The hotel's location, right opposite the beach, was fantastic, but it's not the quietest stay. The dining experience had a good selection but could be more organized. Overall, a cosy place with friendly service and a lovely atmosphere.

The hotel offered a mix of positives and negatives. While the small room was quite tired with several issues like no toiletries, broken mirror, and a dark TV, it did provide comfort and had all the necessities. The location right on the beachfront was perfect, offering amazing views, but there were concerns about the room's maintenance and amenities. The dining experience felt homely with lovely fresh food, although the breakfast service needed improvement.
